DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The Department of Political Science at Washington State University is seeking to fill a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Public Policy, effective August 16, 2010. The position has a 2/2 course load delivered on a semester system.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must hold a PhD in Political Science or related field. Successful candidates must be able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in public policy. The position is open with respect to area of specialization in public policy, but particular consideration will be given to applicants with research and teaching interests in health policy, environmental health policy or community sustainability related to the protection of public health. The College of Liberal Arts is focusing its faculty recruitment in these areas in several of its academic units. Applicants who can also teach courses in the area of public administration will receive added consideration. The search committee is particularly interested in applicants who command strong methodological skills — qualitative and quantitative alike, and knowledge of mixed methods research designs. Those candidates with high likelihood of being able to obtain extramural funding will also receive added consideration.

RANK and SALARY: The appointment is at the Assistant Professor rank. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
