The Department of Marketing at Washington State University is seeking qualified candidates for one or more permanent, full-time positions at the main campus in Pullman. We will consider candidates at the rank of assistant, associate or full professor. The positions are tenure-track and subject to budget approval.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in marketing or closely related field from a nationally or internationally recognized university is required.
Qualified candidates must have a demonstrated record of research published in and/or research targeted towards the field’s premier journals. Building on strong behavioral research competencies and facilities, the preferred candidate must have demonstrated excellence (or strong evidence of ability) in behavioral research. To be considered for the Associate Professor or Full Professor position, candidates must have qualifications commensurate with rank including publications in the field’s premier journals.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and teaching effectiveness is also required. Preference will be given to candidates capable of teaching one or more of the following courses: consumer behavior, marketing strategy (undergraduate and/or graduate), and/or various electives. Research interests need not be directly related to these teaching areas. In addition, the college and university have targeted the Department of Marketing’s doctoral program for growth; preferred candidates are expected to be actively involved with doctoral education, and will likely be asked to teach a doctoral seminar. Teaching in distance-learning programs may also be expected. The successful candidate will also be expected to make service contributions to his/her department, college, university, community, and profession.
Term, Compensation and Support: The term of appointment is a nine-month academic year, beginning on August 16, 2010. Normal teaching load is six hours (2 courses per semester). Rank and salary are open; benefits are competitive; the retirement system is TIAA/CREF. Initial summer research support is normally available for junior faculty. In addition, the department maintains a large, multi-functional behavior lab and subject pool for research purposes.
