Washington State University (WSU) invites applications for the position of
Assistant Vice President for Core Applications for Information Services.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

Assistant Vice President for Core Applications is a full-time, 12 month, permanent Administrative/Professional position with Washington State University’s Information Services department. This position will report to the Vice President for Information Services and Chief Information Officer (CIO), and will provide executive level oversight and leadership in the provisioning and delivery of the enterprise information systems that support the business operations of the entire WSU system, statewide.

The Assistant Vice President will oversee the project management of future strategic information technology initiatives for enterprise information systems. This position will coordinate closely with other units within IT to ensure integrated support services to the entire WSU system, statewide.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in IT supporting, maintaining and developing mission critical applications such as HR/payroll, grants and student systems, which has included at least five (5) years of management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing an ERP Solution, such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, Sunguard/Banner, SAP.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration.
  • Ten (10) years experience in management and administration of technology related teams including senior level experience in an information technology organization.
  • Proficiency with appropriate technologies to ensure credible performance and representation.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and completing enterprise-wide technology projects
  • Familiarity with large university environment, preferable in a Research One institution.
  • Leadership ability demonstrated through building effective alignment among diverse groups.
  • Demonstrated skill in organizational assessment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to articulate vision and organizational direction.
