Managing Online Learning Resources

Human Resource Services is providing managers and supervisors with more tools to effectively meet departmental training needs.  Online Training Managers can assign specific courses to employees and then track their progress through the materials.

1) Determine if you are an Online Learning Resources Manager

• Access your Online Learning Resources Home Page (https://www.hrs.wsu.edu/skillsoft)
• Look for the "Admin Tasks shortcut" (click here for illustration).  
• If you wish to become a manager, submit the Online Learning Management Authorization Form.

2) Learn the management steps

• Download the step-by-step Online Learning Manager Training Guide.
• Attend a scheduled SkillPort Manger Training session featured in the WSU Supervisory Training Series.
• Request a private or departmental session at hrstraining@wsu.edu or (509) 335-4521.

3) Additional e-learning management tools

• Training Time Reminder: when is training allowed?
• Online Learning Course Catalog: download this catalog of available courses.
• Universal Competency Tool:  match specific training courses to your employees' job competencies and performance expectations.
• Online Learning FAQ's:
  • Solutions to login problems
  • Browser setting recommendations
  • Books 24x7 notifications
  • Additional e-learning management tools
• Online Learning Orientation:  Attend a monthly live demonstration of SkillPort navigation and search tips, ILT registration and more.
