    Washington State University’s mainframe application BALANCES is explored in this hands-on computer lab.  Authorized access to BALANCES is a prerequisite to attending this course.

  • AIS: BRS - Managing Receivables (rev. 10/2006)
    The class explores the Accounts Receivable management aspect of AIS BRS. WSU Policy regarding accounts receivable and collections is reviewed, plus hands-on use of BRS to download, sort and review departmental receivables. Participants must have authorized access to BRS before class.

  • AIS: DEPPS (rev. 01/2006)
    WSU's Departmental Personnel Payroll System (DEPPS) is the Administrative Information System that contains information on employees, payroll, and position control. This hands-on computer lab features practice in navigating through the many query screens that detail such things as salary history, work location, position type, and employee demographics.  Authorized access to DEPPS is a prerequisite to attending this course.

  • AIS: PAPR - Accounts Payable & Receiving (rev. 11/2006)
    This class addresses the last three letters in PAPR, Accounts Payable and Receiving. WSU Policy concerning Accounts Payable & Receiving is reviewed. The hands-on portion includes querying PAPR to determine payment status, check number, vendor address, how to sign in shipments, and using PAPR to reconcile payment transactions.

  • AIS: PAPR - Purchasing and Procurement (rev. 10/2006)
    This class addresses the legal and policy issues associated with purchasing activities at WSU and provides knowledge and skills useful for purchasing at a departmental level.  It includes an introduction to PAPR and the Purchasing Card.

  • Asbestos Awareness for Maintenance and Custodial Personnel (rev. 01/2008)
    Topics addressed in this course include forms of asbestos in buildings, health effects of asbestos, potential locations of ACM, recognizing deteriorating or damaged ACM, reporting releases, and minimizing exposures through work practices, signs and labels, and personal protective equipment.

  • Benefit Eligibility for Non Student Hourly Employees  3/2008
    The goal of this course is to train those who are responsible for hiring, monitoring and supervising non student temporary hourly employees of changes to the insurance benefit eligibility criteria.  Attendees will learn the new method in which non student temporary hourly employees may become benefit eligible and learn what resources are available to monitor their hours of work.

  • Cash Handling (rev. 04/2006)
    This class is required for those whose positions entail cash handling. At the completion of this course participants will have knowledge of the policies and procedures related to the handling of cash, the receipt and deposit of money, dealing with foreign currency, handling a "returned check, and identifying the proper procedures for safeguarding and securing monies, reimbursing a petty cash fund, and processing a refund.

  • Create Your Own Web Page (rev. 02/07/2006)
    This hands-on computer lab is designed for people who want to create their first WEB page and want to learn something about the language behind the scenes. Basic HTML instruction is given, along with information on how to link pages, insert graphics, and add color.  (Note: It is highly recommended that you bring your UNIX username and password with you to the lab. This may be different than your Net ID and password. In order to get this information, simply call the IT Accounts Desk at 509-335-3663. Also, please bring a floppy disk or thumb drive if you want to save your Web page for future use.

  • Human Subjects Training (rev. 2/2008)
    WSU IRB requires the PI and encourages all staff involved in the research to complete CITI training in the ethical use of human participants in research. The PI is ultimately responsible to adequately train all staff listed on the application in the protection of human participants in research. Re-training is required every five years.

    Effective July 1, 2008, the State of Washington will change how sales tax will be calculated.  These changes affect both sellers and buyers.  This course describes the sweeping changes.
